According to our constitution, some actions will be mandatory:
• The monitoring of the secretariat of the Coordination Office
• Updating the database of returnees
• Updating our website
• Organizing the Alumni days in Cameroon.
Apart from these actions, the Coordination Council will be free to launch all kinds of action in accordance with the constitution and the objectives of the Coordination Office.
Some ideas have been launched during the various meetings:
1. Creation of an e-mail address for Cameroonian Returned Experts from Germany.
This new e-mail address will look like firstname.surname@kbk-cameroon.net.
A new e-mail address will:
-- Strengthen our Network
Returned Experts will have to fill an application form to obtain an e-mail address. Thanks to this application form, we will be able to classify any returnee in a socio-professional category. It will be therefore easy to establish communication between them.
-- Ensure the delivery of our messages
With an email address firstname.surname @ kbk-cameroon.net, we will have a guarantee that all returnees receive the messages that we send them. In fact, some of our members do not receive our e-mails because of some mail-servers (Hotmail, Yahoo, Web, etc). Those mail-servers sometimes consider our messages as Spam, or as Virus.
-- Ensure the traffic on our site
With an e-mail address firstname.surname @ kbk-cameroon.net, we will have the assurance that our
website will consequently become more popular. To access their e-mail, Returned Experts will have to open the main page (Wir über them) on our website (www.kbk-cameroon.net).
-- Improve visibility
With an e-mail address firstname.surname @ kbk cameroon.net Returned Experts can easily differentiate their personal message from the messages concerning our network. Indeed, it is sufficient to access their kbk mail box to get the latest information on the Network. Our messages will soon be sent only to this address.
-- Working at home at your own comfort
With a KBK e-mail address, returnees having a personal computer will have the opportunity to read and to respond to their message without having the stress of the Cyber-café. We do offer a free POP service.
-- Reinforcing our identity
With a KBK email address every Returnee will participate in the strengthening of our identity.
2. Creating a newsletter
3. Creation of a membership card
To ensure the survival of the Coordination Office, the Executive board will introduce at the beginning of the year 2008 an annual fee mandatory for all members. Members with a card will receive discounts while
attending some of our activities.
4. Selection of a representative of the Coordination Office in the different provinces of Cameroon.
The choice of a representative of the COC in the different provinces of Cameroon will primarily build the national scope of the COC and secondarily enable the decentralization of its activities. These antennas are attached to the Executive Secretariat of the COC.
The representative of the Coordination Office is responsible for the quality of service rendered in his province. He has the following function:
-- Preparing and management of the Budget of the activities of his province
-- Coordinating all activities of Returnees in his region
-- Managing his Team
-- Participating in the projects across the group.
5. Seek funding sources among some agencies of the European community.
6. Work on the sectors of the bilateral cooperation between Germany and Cameroon
7. Organizing conferences and join organizations and personalities of our country and elsewhere.
It is important for the image of the Coordination Office to bond professionals in various specialties. This approach is expected to strengthen our professional network. So as a first step it would be necessary to find partnership in the structures where Returned Experts are working and also any other organization
that can provide support to the Coordination Office.
8. Conducting training for entrepreneurship in Cameroon
Good idea to anchor the entrepreneurial spirit to Returned Experts from Germany. The COC could also during this training bring teachers and students together and make themselves known to each other.
9. Organization of several workshops
-- Introduction to Internet
-- Introduction to MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, power Point)
- Improvement of the German language
10. Organization of the Alumni days in Cameroon.
The current Coordination Council proposed that this year the topic for the alumni days should be on health in Cameroon. The purpose of those days will either be a three-day communication, or should be the initiation and the monitoring of a health project in Cameroon. This monitoring would be carried out by members of the Coordination Office.
This would enable Returned Experts to find potential partners and help them get back onto the field. This seems vital in the context of the Coordinating Office whose goal is to work for the development of Cameroon and to improve the employability of returnees.
11. Sale of T-shirt. An easy way to make advertisement.
12. Return of experience of the older returnees
From time to time it would be interesting to organize meetings conducted by one or more Returned Experts. Thus, the older generation of Returned Experts could share their experience and skills acquired during their work experience. For example, some would present operation of a trade union or a consultancy firm.
13. Creation of different cells (board) within the Coordination Office.
For example a communication cells, a scientist cell, a tourist cell, a cultural cell, etc.
14. Creation of a monthly meeting of the Returned Experts in a café in the square (Stammtisch)
Council:
As a first step, it will be necessary to list the activities for the coming year, and members wanting to participate in the planning, organization and implementation of some actions may organised themselves into working groups. They will participate directly in the activities undertaken by the Coordination Office.
It is important to know how to concentrate the energy of everyone in a task that motivates him.
